Founder of the Canal du Midi, Pierre Paul RIQUET was born in this house (opposite the covered market “Les Halles”) in 1604. The statue erected by the Archeological Society on 21/10/1838 to the memory of one of Béziers’ sons on the tree lined avenue that bears his name, “Allées Paul Riquet”. |
